Iberian funerary and religious world

Sala V
The Iberian funerary ritual involved the cremation of the body on a pyre and the deposition of bone remains and ashes in side urns, together with grave goods, such as personal objects and gifts from family and friends. Sometimes, funeral banquets were organized and remains of consumed food or tableware were also deposited around the tomb.
Tomb types range from simple earthen pits to larger buildings with funerary chambers inside mounds, tombs with monumental stele-pillars and tower shaped monuments. Other times, graves were indicated with funerary stele depicting high-ranking characters as warriors or women with jewelry.
