Re-creation of an Iberian house
Casa ibérica
This is what a house from the Iberian classical period (V-III centuries B.C.) would look like. The most important areas of the house are the grinding, cooking and storage, areas. Among the different pottery used are storage containers such as amphorae and jars; tableware, consisting of plates, cups, jugs and bottles, as well as many other household items like colanders, lids or mortars used for various cooking activities. For culinary tasks coarse pottery pots were used, which could bear the heat without breaking.
Moreover, weaving in vertical looms, as the one shown here, is common to almost all domestic areas. A reproduction of the characteristic high-ranking clothing, of both men and women, is also presented inside the house.
The reproduction of a house takes us into the Iberian domestic space.
