War and power. The Bastida rider
Vitrina 77
This is one of the major highlights of the Museum's collections. A cast bronze figure that represents a naked man with specific elements of the dominant group: weapons and a horse. With one hand, he holds the sword, called falcata, and with the other, a round shield, called caetra, but what is most remarkable, is a helmet with a great crest, a symbol of power for these people.
